Independent developer Masayoshi Suzuki ("Developer") sets forth the following Privacy Policy regarding the handling of users' personal information in the iOS application "FormUp" ("App").
The App provides two distinct analysis features, which this Policy treats separately:
Unless the User uses AI Form Analysis, no videos or images are ever transmitted to external servers.
For users on version 1.0.13 or earlier:
Versions 1.0.13 and earlier use Google ML Kit Pose Detection. While input images are not transmitted, anonymized statistics (device model, OS, inference latency) for quality-improvement purposes may be sent to Google; no personally identifiable information is included. Version 1.0.14 and later do not use ML Kit, so these anonymous statistics are no longer transmitted (for the App Usage Data transmitted by current versions, see the table below).
| Category | Data Collected | External Transmission | Retention Period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Video / Image Data | Sports videos selected from the camera roll or recorded using the in-app camera (may include audio) | None (processed on-device); see "AI Form Analysis Video" below if selected for AI Form Analysis | Stored on the device until the App is deleted |
| Microphone Audio | Audio recorded by the microphone during Capture & Instant Analysis | None (processed on-device) | Stored on-device as part of the recorded video; deleted when the video is deleted or the App is uninstalled |
| Skeleton Analysis Results (skeleton lines, angles) | Generated on-device from the above videos | None | Same as above |
| AI Form Analysis Video | The video the User selects for analysis (for skeleton-analyzed videos, a version with skeleton lines and angles rendered onto the footage; for comparison analysis, the two videos combined into one). The audio track is removed before transmission and is never sent | Encrypted transmission to a generative AI service provided by Google LLC (Gemini API) | The terms applicable to Gemini API Paid Services provide that Google will not use files such as videos to improve Google's products or services. Google may retain logs for a limited period under its then-current published policies to detect and prevent abuse, maintain service safety, and make disclosures required by law or regulation. For details, see the Gemini API usage policies. Temporary files created for transmission are deleted from the device after analysis |
| AI Form Analysis Input | Sport name and focus/task optionally entered by the User, the response-language setting, and instructions necessary for the analysis | Same as above | Same as above |
| AI Form Analysis Results | Feedback text generated by Gemini and analysis-related information such as video length | Generated by Google's generative AI service and received by the App over an encrypted connection; stored on-device after receipt | Google may retain the generated response in logs together with the input and video for a limited period under its then-current published policies. The on-device result is retained until deleted by the User or the App is uninstalled |
| AI Service Operational and Technical Data | IP addresses, device and similar identifiers, usage information, diagnostic information, and security-related information | Transmitted to or generated by Google | Retained and deleted under the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service, the Google Privacy Policy, and Google's other then-current published policies |
| Firebase Security, Configuration, and Diagnostic Data | Technical information necessary to verify App and device authenticity, app-instance identifiers, configuration-fetch information, crash and error information, and device, OS, and App state (does not include names, email addresses, videos, User-entered text, or generated-response bodies) | Encrypted transmission to Google Firebase | Retained and deleted under Privacy and Security in Firebase and Google's other then-current published policies |
| Account Information | Sign in with Apple credentials: user ID, email address (a private relay address if the User chose "Hide My Email"), and name (if provided by Apple) | Managed by Google Firebase Authentication (US data centers) | Retained until account deletion; after deletion, retained and deleted under Privacy and Security in Firebase and Google's other then-current published policies |
| AI Usage Data | Subscription tier and records of monthly AI Form Analysis usage (linked to an identifier that does not directly identify you; contains no name, email address, or video) | Sent to a server managed by the Developer (Google Firebase) | Updated on a monthly cycle for quota management; automatically deleted 90 days after your last use (the last server-side update) |
| Subscription Information | App Store purchase information (transaction data) and refund status | Verified between the Developer's server and Apple's servers | Used solely for purchase verification and refund detection; only refund status is stored. Refund status records are automatically deleted approximately 7 days after the relevant subscription period ends |
| Practice Log Data | Date/time, duration, condition, notes, and linked video IDs entered by the User through the My Data feature | None (stored on-device) | Stored on the device until deleted by the User or the App is uninstalled |
| Location Data | Device location (latitude/longitude) used when auto-fetching weather information | Sent to Apple WeatherKit (solely for the purpose of fetching weather data) | Not retained on-device (transient transmission for weather retrieval only) |
| Weather Data | Weather condition, temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure retrieved from Apple WeatherKit | Retrieved from Apple WeatherKit | Stored on-device as part of the practice log; deleted when the practice log is deleted or the App is uninstalled |
| Activity Statistics | Streaks, condition heatmaps, trend charts (weekly / monthly / yearly / all-time), and milestones calculated on-device from practice logs | None (calculated on-device) | Deleted when the App is uninstalled |
| App Usage Data | Screen views and feature-usage events (e.g., video analysis, comparison, practice-log creation), settings (selected sport and focus, whether notifications are enabled, subscription tier), usage statistics (analysis counts, number of practice logs, streak days, etc.), device information (model, OS version, etc.), an app-instance identifier issued by Google, and country-, region-, and city-level approximate location derived from the IP address (does not include names, email addresses, videos, or the contents of practice logs) | Encrypted transmission to Google Firebase Analytics | Retained and deleted in accordance with Google's policies and the retention settings configured by the Developer |
| Anonymous Statistics (version 1.0.13 or earlier only) | Device model, OS, inference latency | Encrypted transmission to Google | Retained and deleted under the Google ML Kit Terms and Google's other then-current published policies |
| Contact Information | Contents of support emails sent by the User | Viewed only by the Developer | Deleted within 30 days after inquiry is resolved |
